A Business Card

Above is a scanned business card. The size of this image is 51k. Almost all of the information on the business card is text.

The same information from the scanned card, but re-drawn in a graphics program. (17k) Creating this graphic would require you to have software that enables you to re-create a complicated graphic. This may not always be an option that you have. The benefit in doing a graphic this way instead of scanning it would be the clearer, more iniform quality of the graphic.

Using HTML to type in the information, it is about 1k (the OSN GIF adds another 5k). This produces the smallest file size version of the business card. The graphic on the left can be scanned, and the rest of the information typed using standard HTML code. This makes the smallest file, and it is the easiest to read.
