Connecting
to the UF HomePages server with Windows
This process works for any version of Windows.
Using WinSCP to connect to the Homepages server.
Download a copy of WinSCP
Install the program. Use all the defaults as shown below.
You may want to use the "Explorer-like interface" if you prefer the look and feel of the Windows Explorer. This interface looks very much like the Window 2000/XP interface used by the "Network Connection" method.
After installation, use the following settings to connect to the Homepages server. Notice the username is only the username and not the full email address.
Note: Use your own username and password.
Click Login and you will see the interface of the WinSCP program. Your local computer is the left window and the Homepages server is the right window. You may have to use the dot dot to navigate up and out of the "My Documents" default folder and into your 565 folder. This is dependent on the location of your 565 folder. To copy a file (or folder) from your computer to the server, select the file (or folder) on the left and press F5.
